Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans 15 oz each beans (kidney, black, or pinto), drained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened, about 4–5 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add chili powder, cumin, and paprika; stir to bloom spices.
  6. Mix in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes.
  7. Add beans and beef broth; stir well.
  8. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat.
  9. Simmer uncovered for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  10. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

Simmer longer for thicker chili and deeper flavor.
Chili tastes even better the next day.
