Ingredients
Method
- Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm milk or water and sugar. Let it sit until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and oil, then knead until a soft, elastic dough forms. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
- Mix softened butter with garlic and herbs to create the filling.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle. Spread the garlic herb butter evenly and sprinkle with cheese.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice lengthwise and gently twist to expose the swirl.
- Place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise briefly.
- Bake until golden brown and fragrant. Cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
Use softened butter, not melted, for clean swirls.
Freshly grated cheese melts better than pre-shredded.
Let the bread cool slightly before cutting to keep the texture fluffy.
