Recipe Name: Air Fryer Calzones

These easy air fryer calzones deliver crispy golden crusts and gooey cheese-pepperoni fillings in under 30 minutes. Made with simple pizza dough and classic toppings, they're perfect handheld pizza pockets for weeknight dinners, snacks, or parties—no deep frying required.

Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 1 lb 450g pizza dough (store-bought or homemade), divided into 4 pieces
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce plus extra for dipping
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese or Italian blend
  • 4-6 oz pepperoni slices or your favorite toppings
  • For Finishing:
  • Cooking spray olive oil preferred
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter mixed with 1 minced garlic clove garlic butter
  • Grated parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning for sprinkling

Method

  1. On a lightly floured surface, divide dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into an 8-inch circle.
  2. Spread marinara on one half of each circle, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with mozzarella, pepperoni, and more cheese.
  3. Fold dough over filling to form a half-moon. Press edges to seal, then crimp with a fork.
  4. Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place calzones in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
  5. Air fry at 375°F for 7-10 minutes total. Flip halfway, brush tops with garlic butter, and sprinkle with parmesan and Italian seasoning.
  6. Cook until golden and crispy. Rest 1-2 minutes, then serve hot with extra marinara for dipping.
