Ingredients
Method
- Butter one side of each bread slice. This will be the outside of the sandwich.
- Lay one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add a layer of mozzarella, a spoonful of pizza sauce, and your desired toppings.
- Add another layer of mozzarella and cover with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook slowly for 2–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Flip carefully and cook the other side until the cheese is fully melted.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning or Parmesan if desired.
- Let rest for 1 minute before slicing and serving.
Notes
• Slow heat is key—this prevents burning while allowing the cheese to melt fully.
• Use brioche, Texas toast, or sourdough for the best texture.
• For a crispier result, toast the bread in garlic butter.
• Add basil or chili flakes for extra flavor.
• Can be made in an air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 5–6 minutes. Calories: 420 kcal
