Method
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente.
- During the last 2–3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the same pot.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving a small amount of pasta water.
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the pan and toss gently.
- Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using.
- Serve warm.
