Ingredients

  • For the biscuits
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter cubed
  • ¾ cup milk
  • For the chicken
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Paprika or smoked paprika
  • Oil for cooking
  • For the hot honey
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 –2 tablespoons hot sauce or chili flakes adjust to taste
  • Optional
  • Cheese slices cheddar, pepper jack, or mozzarella
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Method

  1. Prepare the biscuit dough by mixing flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly, then add milk and gently mix until a soft dough forms. Roll out and cut biscuits, then bake until golden and fluffy.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until golden on the outside and fully cooked inside. Let rest briefly, then cut into biscuit-sized pieces.
  3. To make the hot honey, gently warm the honey over low heat and stir in hot sauce or chili flakes. Heat just until combined, then remove from heat.
  4. Split the warm biscuits in half. Place chicken inside each biscuit, drizzle generously with hot honey, and add cheese if desired. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Use cold butter for the flakiest biscuits.
Warm the honey gently to avoid bitterness.
