Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni or small shells
  • cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder optional
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Add pasta, beef broth, and milk. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Season with paprika, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
  8. Rest 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
Add a splash of milk or broth if sauce thickens too much.
