Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or paprika

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown ground beef with onion until cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season beef with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  4. Arrange a layer of sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
  5. Spread cooked ground beef evenly over potatoes.
  6. Spoon cream of mushroom soup evenly on top.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the casserole.
  8. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is golden.
  10. Rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Slice potatoes thinly for even cooking.
Covering the dish helps potatoes soften properly.
