- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add onion and bell pepper; sauté until soft and lightly caramelized.
- Stir in garlic and Worcestershire sauce; cook 30 seconds. Season with salt and pepper.
- Lower heat and lay cheese over the beef mixture. Cover briefly until melted.
- Lightly toast hoagie rolls.
- Spoon cheesy beef mixture into rolls and serve hot.
Notes
Toasting the rolls helps prevent sogginess.
Freshly sliced cheese melts more smoothly.
