Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
Add butter and minced garlic to the pan. Spoon melted garlic butter over the steaks for 1–2 minutes.
Remove steaks from the pan and let them rest.
Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet, then pour in cream, stirring to deglaze the pan.
Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder (if using). Simmer until the sauce thickens.
Return steaks to the pan or drizzle sauce over them before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
