Garlic Butter Pan-Seared Pork Chops

Juicy, golden-brown pork chops pan-seared to perfection and finished with a rich garlic butter sauce. This quick one-pan dinner delivers bold flavor with minimal ingredients and is perfect for weeknights or elegant, no-fuss meals.

Ingredients

  • Main
  • 4 pork chops bone-in or boneless, preferably thick-cut
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 –2 tablespoons olive oil or neutral cooking oil
  • Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary optional
  • Optional: squeeze of lemon juice for finishing

Method

  1. Pat the pork chops dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear until a golden crust forms on the first side. Flip and reduce the heat slightly.
  3. Add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan. As the butter melts, tilt the pan and spoon the garlic butter over the pork chops repeatedly until they are fully cooked and tender.
  4. Remove the pork chops from the pan and let them rest briefly. Spoon remaining garlic butter over the top before serving.

Notes

Thicker pork chops stay juicier and are easier to cook evenly.
Lower the heat when adding butter to avoid burning the garlic.
Let the pork rest after cooking to keep it tender and juicy.
