Extra Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Ultra-crispy air fryer chicken wings with juicy meat and golden, crackly skin—no deep frying and minimal oil. This foolproof method delivers consistent, restaurant-style crunch that’s perfect for game day, parties, or an easy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings split into drumettes and flats
  • Neutral oil avocado or vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika or smoked paprika
  • Optional: aluminum-free baking powder for extra crispiness

Method

  1. Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels. Split whole wings if needed.
  2. Place wings in a bowl, add a small amount of oil, and toss to coat lightly.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and baking powder if using; mix well.
  4. Preheat the air fryer briefly. Arrange wings in a single layer with space between pieces.
  5. Cook at high heat, flipping halfway through, until wings are deeply golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from the air fryer and rest briefly before serving. Serve plain or toss with sauce.

Notes

Dry wings thoroughly for best results.
Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if needed.
Baking powder is optional but boosts crispiness when evenly distributed.
