Crockpot BBQ Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce any style you love
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar optional for sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Place chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and coat well.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  5. Remove chicken, shred with two forks, and return to the crockpot.
  6. Stir shredded chicken into the sauce and let it cook for 10–15 minutes to absorb flavor.
  7. Add extra BBQ sauce if a thicker or richer coating is desired.
  8. Serve in sandwiches, tacos, over rice, potatoes, or salads.
