Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika optional
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese optional
  • Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, heat cream, butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until warm.
  3. Layer potato slices in the baking dish, pouring some cream mixture between each layer.
  4. Add cheese or herbs as desired.
  5. Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake 25–30 minutes until golden.
  7. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme.

• Use Yukon Gold potatoes for the creamiest texture.
