Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a saucepan, heat cream, butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until warm.
- Layer potato slices in the baking dish, pouring some cream mixture between each layer.
- Add cheese or herbs as desired.
- Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 25–30 minutes until golden.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme.
