Copycat Five Guys Cajun Fries

These copycat Five Guys Cajun fries are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously coated with bold Cajun seasoning. A classic comfort-food side that delivers big flavor and that familiar fast-food satisfaction, made fresh at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large russet potatoes skin on
  • 2 –3 tablespoons oil vegetable, peanut, or avocado oil
  • –2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning adjust to taste
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes well, then cut them into evenly sized fries.
  2. Optional but recommended: soak the fries in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and dry thoroughly.
  3. Place the dry fries in a large bowl and toss with oil until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the fries in a single layer and cook until golden and crisp, flipping or shaking halfway through.
  5. While the fries are still hot, immediately toss them with Cajun seasoning and salt.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve right away.

Notes

Drying the fries well is key for crispiness.
Season after cooking to prevent spices from burning.
Best served fresh and hot for maximum crunch.
