Cheesy Ranch Potatoes and Smoked Sausage

A hearty, cheesy, ranch-seasoned potato bake loaded with smoky sausage and melted cheddar. Easy, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights or potluck dinners.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs potatoes diced into cubes
  • 14 oz smoked sausage sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt optional
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or green onions optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the diced potatoes, olive oil, melted butter, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Spread the potatoes in the baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven, add sliced smoked sausage, and mix gently.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for 5–7 minutes until melted.
  7. Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve warm.

Notes

• Yukon Gold or red potatoes hold their shape best.
• Use spicy andouille sausage for extra heat.
• Add bell peppers or broccoli during the final 15 minutes for a veggie boost.
• For a creamier dish, mix in 1/4 cup sour cream before serving.
• Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
