Cheesy Mashed Potato Puffs

These cheesy mashed potato puffs are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making them the perfect way to transform leftover mashed potatoes into a comforting snack, appetizer, or side dish. Simple ingredients come together quickly to create golden bites packed with flavor and cheesy goodness.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional herbs or seasonings garlic powder, parsley, chives

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until everything is well incorporated.
  3. If using herbs or seasonings, fold them into the mixture.
  4. Scoop small portions of the mixture and shape them into bite-sized balls.
  5. Place the puffs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  6. Bake until golden and lightly crisp on the outside.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use cold mashed potatoes for easier shaping.
Freshly grated cheese melts better than pre-shredded cheese.
Do not overmix to keep the puffs light and fluffy.
Best served warm for optimal texture and flavor.
