Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Brown ground beef with onion until cooked; add garlic and season. Drain excess fat.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
- Top with half of the beef mixture and a layer of cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
- Pour milk evenly over the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake 15 more minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Rest 5 minutes before serving.
