  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups French-fried onions divided
  • Optional: 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  3. Stir in green beans and 2/3 cup of the French-fried onions.
  4. Spread mixture into a baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbling.

Notes

• Use fresh or frozen green beans for a firmer texture.
• Add cheddar cheese for a richer, creamier casserole.
• Mix in sautéed mushrooms, garlic, or onions for extra depth.
• For a lighter version, use low-sodium soup and replace some onions with panko.
• To freeze: assemble without the topping, thaw overnight, bake, add onions, and finish in the oven.
• Leftovers keep 4 days in the fridge.
