Air Fryer Calzones

These air fryer calzones are crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and filled with warm, melty goodness. A quick and easy way to enjoy classic calzone flavor without turning on the oven — perfect for weeknights, family dinners, or game day.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • ½ cup cooked fillings pepperoni, sausage, chicken, or vegetables
  • Olive oil or egg wash for brushing
  • Optional: Italian seasoning grated Parmesan

Method

  1. Let the pizza dough rest at room temperature until easy to stretch.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a small circle.
  3. Spoon a small amount of sauce onto one half of each circle, leaving the edges clear.
  4. Add cheese and desired fillings, being careful not to overfill.
  5. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon and seal the edges firmly.
  6. Preheat the air fryer for a few minutes.
  7. Brush the calzones lightly with olive oil or egg wash.
  8. Place them in the air fryer basket with space between each one.
  9. Air fry until golden and crisp, flipping once if needed.
  10. Let rest briefly before serving.

Notes

Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks.
Keep fillings pre-cooked and not overly wet.
