Method
- Let the pizza dough rest at room temperature until easy to stretch.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a small circle.
- Spoon a small amount of sauce onto one half of each circle, leaving the edges clear.
- Add cheese and desired fillings, being careful not to overfill.
- Fold the dough over to form a half-moon and seal the edges firmly.
- Preheat the air fryer for a few minutes.
- Brush the calzones lightly with olive oil or egg wash.
- Place them in the air fryer basket with space between each one.
- Air fry until golden and crisp, flipping once if needed.
- Let rest briefly before serving.
Notes
Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks.
Keep fillings pre-cooked and not overly wet.
Best served warm with dipping sauce.
